We set out to save YOUR TIME and effort travelling around showrooms by giving you examples of vehicle suitable for towing the Freedom Off-Roads Caravans:
Points to consider:
A Diesel will usually have more torque and will give very good fuel
effiency.
The maximum Tow Ball download weight required by a Free Spirit Caravan, is approximately 150 to 250
kg, depending on the weight of the caravan
(i.e. the 16' - 22' Freedom Caravans). We have made our caravans at around 1.5 tonne so that they have a much lower tow ball dowload weight than most. The maximum towball download weight for our largest caravan is approximately 220kg, already loaded.
To minimise this weight: fit a load distribution hitch/load levelling
bar (i.e. Hayman Reese)
The vehicles below are only examples of what can tow above 2700 kg, but
bear in mind, even if the TARE WEIGHT of our 16' is only 1.5 TONNE if
the vehicle you purchase (or own) can tow above 2700 kg, then this is
even more advantageous giving you that extra capacity in the future!
Even if you have a 4 cylinder Turbo check that the tow bar and
