Our 16’ model for instance weighed in at 1.5 Tonne Tare. This is a caravan that contains more than standard fittings i.e. leather recliners, table, shower, toilet, water tanks, double bed, under bed storage, wardrobes, cupboards, sink, oven, hob, solar panels, television and music system and everything you need to be ‘self-sustainable’ in the outback.
Less weight also means less petrol consumption and better fuel economy. Lowering weight in these caravans gives you the choice to use a lower cylinder engine to tow.
